Lately I have been appreciating plants with chartreuse or variegated foliage for its brightening effect in the garden. This may be because I have more shade than sun in my garden. Euonymous. You 'light' up your garden and your garden lights up our eyes. An excellent example of the use of color. Jerry
Cayuga Morning, Very pleasant. Thank you very much. I hated Hosta when I was a teenager but as I aged I learned to love it. I think I have about 50 different kinds. Now they are beginning to spread out and I am going to split them to get them all over my property.
Jerry--You have a way with words! Henry--Thank you for the patch! donna in nc--Thanks! Barb--I didn't much like hosta when I was young too, but then all I ever saw were very plain green ones. I find hostas very divide-able(is that a word?dividable? That looks like an 'able divid') particularly in the spring. This morning is the town Garden Club sale. Guess what I will be looking for?! More 'lights'!
I love the contrast in your garden. The light and variagated leaved plants really stand out against the darker foliage. The psler ones certainly pop out and look great - like little patches of sunshine even on a dull day.
