So after I found those awesome deals yesterday I just had to make this project. I accidently came across fairy garden while searching for something else a few weeks ago online. And I've secretly been keeping a look out for where I could put one or what I wanted to use. I normally just wait for something to hit me. I say this a lot because that's just kinda how I do things. And yesterday it hit me! In the backyard (hubbys area) there's a toddler sandbox table that Chelsea got for Christmas 2 years ago and hasn't used in awhile. And that's now going to be the fairy garden for the kids to play with. Its great cause that sandbox will get another round of use. So this is what I did..... Chelseas sandbox is being reclassified! 5/31 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) Its deeper on the bottom row so. That's where the bigger plants went. I like how it kinda slides down into the third level. I played with a lot of design ideas. Fairy Garden making in the begining! 5/31 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) These little disney fairy dolls are the new tenants! Fairy Gardens new tenants 5/31 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) And these are the plants I used to start with. Rescued succulents after clean up! 5/31 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) And here's what I've done so far. The kids already have been playing in it. I plan on adding more. But here where I'm at. Fairy garden in making 5/31 Day1 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) Fairy Garden in the making 5/31 Day1 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) Fairy Garden Making 5/31 Day1 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) Fairy Garden Making 6/1 Day2 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) Fairy Garden Making 6/1 Day2 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) Fairy Garden Day2 6/1 ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) So I seen a few little birdhouses for a dollar at Michaels that the kids can paint and id like to maybe put more stones around the pond and a couple stepping stones going down the path and maybe a mini succulent. I will post pics when done. What do you think?
That sand box is the ideal thing for your fairy garden. It's already looking good and I can hardly wait to see it finished. Can I come to your house to play?
om gosh I love this idea hmmmmm maddie has a ladybug sand box wonder if I could talk her out of it I have a bunch of tinkerbell fairies to put in it
Thank you everyone for nice comments. Eileen if you come over I will play fairies with you I call the blue one. Hehe Donna if Maddie is a little girl then go for it. She will have fun playing in it. My 2(almost 3) year old likes putting the little dolls in the pond. And my Maddie ( 8 ) thinks its funny if the fairies fall and get dirt on there face. Whatever floats her boat. Haha.
my maddie is 6 going on 30 lol and the funny thing is she calls me gma hee hee so I guess I am in your fairies lol
Question??? Would a birdhouse pass as a fairy house? ugh just a few of what Michaels has! ( photo / image / picture from Mrs. Galeassi's Garden ) They have isles of these things at Michaels craft store! They fairy houses are cute but big for my lil fairy garden, would the little bird houses do?
oh yes definitley decorate it with moss and bark and pinecone scales you can tell I have been reading up on this lol
I can see the 2nd one from the left on the top shelf painted in bright colors like a beach house... and maybe even put up on stilts? Hey... this is fun... even if it is YOUR project.
