Yes, it's a BumbleBee. One of the great pollinators. The female will sting if they are pestered and near a nest so just let them bee. ;)

Yes, I have some around here and I really like them. I have some that big that are black, too.

Send it over to me as I've hardly seen any bees this year. :( I could do with at least a couple of dozen to pollinate my fruit trees and bushes.

Lovely foto. It looks like that bumblebee is really getting into that cone flower.

I am just now beginning to see more bees in my garden. They are so late this year.

    Very good foto, Cheryl.

Haha too cute. I haven't had many bees, my pollenators are flies and wasp it seems... haha.

    Great pun Toni! :)

Dooley, the big black ones we call Cedar Bees, and they don't have a stinger. Take a look at the nether end of one, and you won't see a stinger. They are slow, and very calm, and I love our Cedar Bees!
Cheryl, great photo! I hope you get butterflies--we have to wait for them to flutter across the path before we get to the workshop or barn.

So toni??? The males won't sting? Is it a hormonal thing that the females are less patient?

    That sounds very funny...
