I loved the Peony in my Mom and Dad's backyard as long as I can remember. I used to sit and stare at the blooms as they were about to open, watching the ants and waiting for them to open so I could breathe in their perfume. Dad would always cut a few and bring them inside for my birthday. This is my earliest memory of loving a plant, and Peony's have a special place in my heart. My Mom gave me a piece of her Peony several years ago and it has taken off in my yard.

This one came from a friend who couldn't seem to get it to bloom in the 7 years she had it

I think it blooms just fine ;)

This one I bought from a school fund raiser, 'Sarah Bernhardt'

Another unknown, from a friends grandmothers garden

Two beautiful unknowns blooming at work

This one I got from a friend who's century home had a Peony growing where a new deck was going to be built. It was huge and now lives happily in 3 places in my garden.

A small piece of a very scented Peony at work somehow ended up in my garden

This one I bought of a discount table last year. I think it is 'Duchesse de Nemours'
And finally 'Angel Cheeks', although I think this may have been mis-labeled

Those are stunning! I really, really like the 'Duchesse de Nemours.
I have an unknown one that I rescued from the discount table at Lowe's 4 years ago. It's been in three locations and seems to like it's present one but is still just a squatting little mound. At least it's alive.

STUNNING!! I love them too :p You have an amazing collection! We had such a strange spring this year that mine were confused and didn't do too hot :-? I have Big Ben under our bedroom window and despite the crazy weather he was extremely handsome and fragrant. I wish there was a way to bottle that fragrance...

Netty I love your peonies. :smt055 I think my favourite has to be your 'Duchesse de Nemours.' I wish I could find wonderful plants like that in a discount store.

What wonderful peonies Netty. I love the colours of them, I'm sure they brighten up your garden. I think they would also brighten up my day if I had them in my garden. Well done!

Thank you for your comments. I just found the tag for the yellow Peony. It is NOT Duchesse de Nemours, but 'Primevere'. The Duchesse did not bloom this year, but hopefully next year I'll have some photos of it.
