Last year, I planted this lovely in the wrong location (not enough sun). So I gave him a new home. It's been growing pretty well considering it had to start over kinda "late". Clematis Hagley Hybrid ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) I can't wait until it gets nice and full. But in the meantime, at least it's happy enough to give me some blooms. What lovely flowers it has. Hopefully next year it will have bushed out for you and will produce many more.
Thank you Geo. I have high hopes for it. Deanna... I just had to have one (maybe more) after seeing everyone else's Clematis here. They aren't readily available here for some reason... or priced way out of my reach. So I was tickled to find this one. Eileen... That is exactly what I'm hoping for.... a nice plush "stand". But I gotta give it credit... even though the blooms aren't as big as they should be, there are lots of buds. Hopefully I got it right this time.
Thank you Kildale. Yes... I was worried that I would kill it in the move since it was already growing. But I feared that if I left it where it was, it would die. So, it was a chance I had to take.
Of all the plants I have and I have many, I think the clemantis is the hardest plant to grow. This year was the worst with only a few blooms. I have been thinking of just not growing it anymore until I see a picture of them.... I am glad you found the right spot for your clemantis. Very pretty.
