and almost ready to return to the fray of everyday life....but since I have a realllllly good excuse for not doing so, I think I will milk my disability for a few days longer.

Got back home late Thursday afternoon, asleep by 6 p.m and woke up around 8 Friday morning. It rained all Friday morning so I felt especially welcomed home!! Oldest daughter and grandsons came over to visit and youngest grandson brought me one of the cupcakes from his birthday party that I had missed on Wed....hmmmm chocolate!!

Spent the day getting into a new daily routine, medically wise. It was a chore but we are getting the hang of it and before I can have the reversal surgery in 4-6 months we will have these activities so ingrained in our memory they could be done in our sleep.

Appetite is coming back and diet is expanding....and yes chocolate is part of this diet!! The Surgeon told me that I could eat pretty much anything that didn't cause me problems before. Sadly that excludes fried catfish and fries (chips to some of you all) and burgers (the greasy ones are the only ones worth eating). I had a flat Dr. Pepper yesterday and it was so good...even flat Dr. Pepper is still the best cola out there. Can't wait to make a Dr. Pepper float with lactose free chocolate ice cream.

Randy is taking care of watering the gardens until the Dr. says I can return to hose dragging. The wife of one of Randy's shooting buddies volunteered to come do any weeding needed as soon as I could get outside to show her what had to go.

This week we begin a round of follow up visits with primary care doctor, surgeon and G.I. and a PET scan.

Thanks so much for all the prayers and good thoughts.
    Love You all.

Toni... I'm THRILLED to see that you're back home and... and home here too!
Sounds like Randy, family and friends are there to take care of you and your needs... including your gardens. Bet that's a big relief not to worry about hoses and weeds.
Can I be nosey and ask what your surgery was for?
Welcome home... and be a good patient now, okay? :-D

So glad you are feeling better. Hope everything works out well for you. Please do keep us posted.

We will sure be glad when you begin your "weeding chores" again. That'll mean you're pretty much recovered and that's good. :D

Dr. Pepper is the best. Put some peanuts in it! Gettin' back to normal will be the best part. Wishin' you get there when you want to.

Hiya Toni! It's so great that you are back on typing here so that you can keep us up to date with your progress. And chocolate is still on the menu so that's excellent to hear. You have good people around you to help so I'm sure you will be back to daily life soon! Continued best wishes :stew2:

Welcome back Toni! Just follow the doctor's directions until you are feeling back to "normal." Then you can do what you feel like doing and if you don't feel like doing it, blame the medication or the surgery. Hope things go okay with you and the scans show nothing out of the ordinary.

Now we can breath easy again Toni knowing that you're back home again. You take full advantage and rest up. After all you've looked after others for years and now it's your turn to act like a lady of leisure. I hope your visits to the surgeon, doctor and G.I. continue to have good news and that the PET scan doesn't raise any issues.
Take care of yourself and don't try to rush things even if you feel you can cope.

Welcome back to the land of the living. We have missed you. We inserted a man eating plant in the database but we hid it well. Perhaps that is something you don't want to find anyway. :) No weeding or watering!! And you get to eat chocolate? Hmmmm......
