yesterday, my mother and I planted 51 pepper seedlings including Yellow, Orange and Purple Bell peppers (to go with the Reds we already have). also, sweet bananas and pimento peppers were planted along with habanero, tabasco, and serranos. after that, we laid more cardboard weedblock and mulched about 4 more rows. the mulching is slow work, but there is no hurry. the garden is shaping up quite nicely, if not quite early.
well, we staked all the bell peppers an counted 22 on the plants! i hope i have the patience to let them mature to the ripe colors they are supposed to be! other peppers (hot) are producing prodigiously... i have had fun with them and my new dehydrator. i am planning to make my own powders this year. crossing my fingers...
I look forward to seeing how they progress. Let us know how they grow and how they taste in the end. As for the mulching, I agree with what you are doing. As you say it is slow work, but if you let it take its time, it will all work out well.
i transplanted 17 peter peppers from containers to the ground as space has opened up for them. hoping they do well as they are really cool to see. this is the first year i have grown this variety.
