What an impressive series of swallowtail foto's, Sherry. You were on hand to take those pics at just the right time, weren't you. Good thing you snapped them when you did, because who knows when old Bob would come along and frighten him away.
Thank you waretrop, sjoerd and eileen for the nice comments. Sjoerd...sorry to say I think Bob the llama has left this earth and went to llama heaven. I have not seen him all summer . We have had such a reduction in bees and butterflys here it is so sad. I guess with all the systemic poisons people use to get rid of the bad bugs, they are killing them...and on the corn seeds. I read an article about the systemic poisons going into the pollen and that is how some are killed. One lady in Garden Talk on facebook was showing pictures of all dead bees in her yard and ones dying right on her flowers. She is organic so it could be from her neighbors. I will read twice before I ever put anything on my plants again. Some of the products made by Bayer that are systemic.
The butterfly action is starting to pick up in my gardens and the bees are plentiful...to the point where you have them buzzing around your head when you are watering...isn't Mother Nature Grand?
