This clock was made from scratch out of my parents first dining room furniture. This year it will be 52 years old

Really? You built that clock? It's amazingly beautiful! And so special since the wood is special. I'm sure it will be cherished by generations.

"First woodworking project"? Good heavens, move over Duncan Phyffe!
That is a gorgeous clock, and definitely does not look like a first woodworking project.

WOW!! :setf_049: My first attempt was an ashtray at school and that was a disaster.
Did you do an apprenticeship in carpentry or woodwork? To say I'm impressed with your clock is a real understatement.

I am blushing, I made a nut bowl in 7th grade but I didn't think of that as a project. I guess the clock is my second project. John

Oh, well sure. That explains it. From a nut bowl to an ornate, stunning, perfectly made grandfather clock.

Sure. That's not a leap or anything.

Jbest, it's an amazing work of art! Mega kudos. :stew1:

This is my favorite, a reproduction of an authentic governor Winthrop desk including the joinery and hardware.

Oh my how I wish I were your best friend. I've always wanted a desk just like that but can't afford one. You have a real flair with wood and I hope you never get tired of creating new pieces of furniture.
