I came across the tag today, they're White Beauty, not White Wonder!

I had to drive clear to Ames, Iowa this year to find White Wonder, and it was worth the drive. They're huge! The other is Purple Cherokee. Both are heirloom varieties.

Your white wonder really is huge and you're right, it definitely seems like the drive was a good idea! Look very yummy, enjoy them :D

That's what I call a BIG tomato. :-D Do White Wonders crop heavily and are all the fruits large like this one? I don't know anything about the variety so am wondering are they a sweet tomato?

White Wonder is definitely a mild, sweet tomato. They taste a lot like a yellow cherry tomato. They are producing heavily for me, but I don't think they normally get this big. I'm not sure why they call them white tomatoes, they're yellow. Maybe if they're allowed to ripen more they turn whiter, but mine was getting too soft not to eat it.

The Cherokee Purple has a much stronger flavor than the white, less sweet.

that is the color of all so called "white" tomatoes, and they actually get darker as they ripen. you can see that it is similarly inaccurate to call brown tomatoes "black", maroon tomatoes "purple", and now that we are actually growing tomatoes with anthocyanin purple pigment, people are calling them blue!? i give up. yes white is light yellow. cross a "white" with a "black" tomato and the offspring will be red!
