Our son adopted a basenji mix named Maynard a few weeks ago, and he's coming to visit us next week for several days!

Can't wait to see how our he gets along with our basenji mix. It should be interesting. Maynard is a gymnast and can get out of harnesses when he really wants to. Our son has tried two that Maynard has successfully escaped. Any suggestions?

    He's gorgeous!

I have zero personal experience, but a friend of mine who has an escape artist swears by the Puppia harnesses. It's more like a vest, not strappy like the one in the picture.

My daughter has those little vests for her four ferrets but the little devils can even wriggle out of them!! I think a dog would have much less chance though of being able to get out of one. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I think he's already got the vest kind too. These dogs have very thin agile legs that can slip out of about anything. Our dog's foster home said Peanut (our basenji mix) climbed chain link fences.

Oh he's a spoiled baby indoor dog. He was a stray before getting picked up and put in an adoption home. He doesn't get to go outside because of his tendency to escape and run away. Leash and harness and walks will be Maynard's only outside adventures. Our son adopted him knowing he was a special needs dog. He's special alright, total baby lap dog. I didn't realize there could be a bigger lapdog than our Peanut, now I know that's not true.

Thank goodness they are both small dogs or the humans in their lives would disappear underneath all that puppy love. :-D
