I am new to this forum, and was wondering if anyone here cuts grass for anyone for money? What should you charge someone and how would you figure that out? I use a push mower and do the trimming? Thanks....
Hi there, Sorry I can't answer your query as I cut my own grass but thought I'd just pop in and say hello anyway!! I'm sure someone will be along soon who can help you out. :-D
I also mow my own lawn, so I'm no help either!! But I too would like to send a warm welcome out to ya !! Julie
I paid this guy $30. to mow and weedeat my yard. But that was the price beacuse of all the plants that needed to be cut around and I have such a large front, back and side yards.
That's not too bad, if he does a good job. But according to your other post he evident;y didn't do a good job. Was it your mower and gas?
It is a gasoline mower and its my lawnmower and weedwacker. I do it every weekend it is on a slight grade hill there is plants to go around and a sidewalk right in the middle of the yard. I do the edging by turning over the weedwacker... :?:
No he didnt do a good job and no it wasnt my things he used. But I thought it a fair price for all the work he had to do. That is before I found out about the chop job he did. I would look at the yard and how much work you would need to do. If its a smaller yard with no plants to be careful of, Id ask $15 to mow and weedeat it. And just go from there.
Okay Dirtman, I would decide on a per hour figure for your time. Multiply that by the time it takes to cut the lawn including travel time. You are cutting the lawn weekly, so there should not be excessive wear and tear on your machine. However, try and factor in a figure to cover maintenance of the machine, filters , oil change etc. This is easier done when you have a few clients to spread the cost. Also, dont forget your fuel. Be aware that cutting with mower on a gradient can cause excessive wear to the engine, due to the oil in the sump running to one side and leaving the other side un-lubricated
This is really up to you. Depends on how long it is going to take you and what exactly you are going to be doing. You do not want to overcharge your customers so think carefully about your prices.
