After 4 years, a bloom!

    I've been babying this orchid ever since it was given to me by a friend, after the blooms fell off and she didn't want to deal with it anymore. She was going to throw it away but I just couldn't stand the idea of trashing a live thing. :'(

    That was 4 years ago....actually 4 1/2. Ever since then I've been dutifully watering it, misting the leaves and generally babying it, and though it put out a couple of new leaves, it just would NOT flower.

    After the move to this house, a new location by a sunnier window and some orchid food it has finally rewarded me with some stunning flowers! I couldn't be happier! :stew1:

    Nice bloom, after flowering for 6 months mine have gone to sleep. I hope their nap is not that long.

    The orchid obviously likes its new situation Ronni. Isn't it nice that they show their appreciation by giving us such beautiful blooms? :D

    You'd think it would have a knockout fragrance, huh? But nope. Unfortunately no smell at all.

    beautiful flower! finally it bloom, aha! it's worth for waiting 4 years.
