That Tiger Flower is stunning! I love the Lathryus as well, I have never had much luck growing it here
Hi Cayuga Morning,..it will produce blooms and bananas though the bananas are edible they are insipid,..if i look after this plant and no mistakes during winter i expect it to reach at least 8ft. ==================================================== Thanks Barb,..we still have lots of blooms despite a month into Autumn. ==================================================== Hi Netty,..i am very pleased with that Tiger Flower the blooms are very striking alas as i mentioned the blooms only last two days however there is a new one every day,..three colours so far,..oh the bulbs are edible,..as if i would waste them that way lol. I have several Lathryus coming along all growing quite tall though the only one in a container and on high is the one in flower,..makes one wonder. ===================================================== Gladioli. Now I'm getting a tad jealous Philip. I love the yellow Shell Flower, the red banana and that gorgeous white gladioli.
Hi Cayuga Morning,..i was having one of my tea breaks and spotted the light hitting that Gladioli,..reached for the camera before the light vanished,..and it did vanish very quickly. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) =================================================== Hi Eileen,..i planted the Red Banana in a huge container so if the winter is harsh i can take it inside,..it can be used indoor,..while small enough to fit in my cottage lol. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ==================================================== Hi FlowerFreak22,..thank you,..yes i also am pleased with all three plants you mentioned,..another view of that Lily. With all those gorgeous plants/flowers... I'm surprised you found room for that banana!!! Will it still get that tall even in a container? I drool over that dark maroon lily everytime I see it. Love all the color you have in your garden.... year 'round!
Thanks Carolyn,..Calin and Cheryl, Yes this is the time for my Gladiolus and Lilium,..but its the Tigridia pavonia that has my attention at present,..i gave some to my neighbor and hers are producing doubles and possibly a treble,..mine are just single. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) Cheryl,..that Red Banana should reach the 8ft at least,..even in the container as its a big container,..however fingers crossed as anything can happen.
