I grew Ranunculus for the first time this year. Only 2 of them bloomed at very different times (about couple of months apart) and 2 very different colors. I love them so much, I will add more of them in my garden next year. anybody has experience growing Ranunculus?

I planted bulbs last fall, they came up in November and were dead and gone by January. So I bought plants in March, they did really well until the heat set it....but then that's the story of most of the plants growing down here lately.

Click on this blue link, I put photos of mine in our Plant database....
    Ranunculus asiaticus (Persian Buttercup)

I bought some corms or whatever they were... pointed little things... soaked them in water, they blew up a bit, planted them, very few came up in spring and none bloomed.
    SO that was it!

But...good for you! I am impressed!

I sometimes see them for sale in pots, very nice plants, healthy, showing huge and colorful blooms - so unreal they look plastic but I am sure if I buy any, they would have the same fate!

I still think they are fussy!
    :)

I bought these corns (or whatever they are called ;-) ) last year. Not a peek last year...but this year I get blooms, unexpectedly. I love surprises.
