Went looking for the Savannah sparrow today and managed to find one. This is a first for me, have had a few new ones this year.

I hope you're keeping a tally of all the new species you've managed to find and photograph Kildale. Do you usually get so many 'new' birds coming to your area each year or is this year an exception?

Hi Eileen. We usually get some new ones each year. I must admit I haven't looked for sparrows down at the lagoon as the water birds keep me busy. I have photos of white crowned and golden crowned sparrows from down there and song sparrows. I heard a guy say that the savannahs were there when I was photographing that sandpiper so I looked around for them. Today they said there was a rusty blackbird there so I went down again but missed that one.
