Those Chrysanthemums are so eye catching with their hot colours Philip. Gorgeous!! :-D I have a pot of Aloes too and keep having to take the pups away for replanting. I think almost everyone I know has one now. I leave my Hart's tongue ferns out all year round and they seem to do well in the garden. They're a really attractive fern aren't they?
Love the colors of that mum. It's very similar to one of mine. Wish I could find a neat jar like the one you used for the terrarium. It's so unique and pretty. I have a few house plants, but they seem to get ignored. I really need to take better care of them... so they can look as good as yours!
Thanks folks, Hi Eileen,..yes like you i am in the same situation with the Aloes they really do multiply,..a person could really fill the house with all the pups . From time to time i do take indoors one of the Harts Tongue Ferns,..they do look good,..i return them to the garden after a spell to boost them up. ====================================================== Hi Cheryl,..ah yes i remembered that you had a similar looking Chrysanthemum and of course your Aster is the same as mine though yours were better this year. ==================================================== I got an Amaryllis lately,..its a red one,'Royal Red',..its thriving for me,..below is how it looked last week,..its even taller this week but the picture is still in the camera. The recent heavy rains did a number on both my Aster and Mum... most of the blooms were knocked off. I guess it's mother nature's way of dead-heading?
Thank you folks, Cheryl you would think we were in the same area,..my Asters got a fierce pounding with a heavy rainfall and mine are in the same condition as yours,..mine have always thrived up to December,..alas not this year.
Philip... The one in the front yard that gets more sun is looking okay. The one in the back garden looks like it's done for the year. Not sure if that's because it gets some shade or from the ground being saturated from all of the recent rains. Since this is my first time growing them, I'm really curious to see how they handle my winter and how they do next year. They are such a bright spot around here now. Here's hoping to seeing them next year.
