    For the past 20 years a friend of mine turns up with a car for sale and every car was trouble free,..just over 6 years ago i bought the car below.

    We have to get our cars Government Tested every 2 years and even a badly lined up headlight will fail the test,..however this car passed every test over the past 6 years,..the only part it ever needed was a new battery.

    In July this year i purchased a smaller car from the same friend,..one for nipping around town and easy on petrol,..road tax and insurance.

    So there i was with two cars,..one parked in my space outside the cottage and the other in my neighbors parking space,..luckily she has no car but i still needed to get rid of the bigger car,..after advertising in the local newspaper and on the internet,..alas nothing doing but timewasters.

    The value of the car at present in perfect order is only 1600 Euro or $2155.84 so after three months fed up looking at it i decided to give it to the local Animal Care people who survive on donations but they never contacted me.

    My eldest son who was living in England phoned me last week to say he was returning to Ireland,..grand children in tow,..and is going to live on the north west coast,..soooo i asked what was he doing for transport,..buying a car he said,..i told him i knew of a VERY good car going cheap and knew the driver would sell it cheap,.....for 5 Euro $6.74,..he picked up the car yesterday and paid the 5 Euro £6.74,..he is still in shock the lucky son of a gun

    :D :D :D

    What an awesome dad you are! Lucky boy. I would have bought that car if you had just told me... we were needing another one not long ago. But I suppose the shipping may have been a bit more than the car was worth. bummer.

    Philip, would you like to adopt a new son?
    Well... first answer me, would you part with the black car?
    (I like it)
    :)

    Philip what I don't understand is why your local Animal Care people didn't leap on the chance of getting your car. :-? I would have thought they would have been delighted with a reliable mode of transport. However it was obviously meant to go to your son and I hope he has many years of trouble free and happy motoring. You have a heart of gold and, please, don't ever change. :kiss:

    Now your son will be able to bring the grandbaby to see you in comfort, style, and safety! Smart move, grandpa ;) .
    I second Eileen's opinion of you as a kind and generous soul.

    Hi Carolyn,..were it possible,..shipping cost wise,..you gladly could have had the car.

    =====================================================

    Hi Deanna,..when you think,..that car could have being sold,..or given away to the Animal Care people to sell for funding,..nothing doing,..then luckily my son phoned before i really tried to get rid of it,..they drove to the North West Coast with smooth motoring.

    =====================================================

    Hi Calin,..seeing you are a gardener i will consider adoption,..however i will keep the new car :D .

    =====================================================

    Hi Eileen,..i fail to understand why the Animal Care people failed to take me up on the offer,..they survive on donations seeing they don't charge for animal care and they have to pay the Vet for treatment,..they could have sold it or had a raffle.

    As you mentioned,..it looks like my son was fated to have that car,..i did accept the £5 euro :D despite the fact he gave me a large bottle of Bushmills Whiskey,..for medicinal purposes of course :rolleyes: .

    ====================================================

    Hi Netty,..Hi Kay,..i don't think i was ever that lucky myself so my son really had luck.

    ====================================================

    Hi Jane,..Grandpa indeed :D ,..its something i have never let sink in,.. with 5 grandchildren out there i should start doing so,..i hope they don't all come a calling at the same time,..you know cats are quieter :rolleyes: .

    ====================================================

    Hi Cheryl,..yep it all worked out well,..the most deserving person got the car.
