I have about 280 images so I could post a few. How about one a day if I'm around my computer. Could start with this one, looks like a mushroom but these are all on a 3 inch pine cone. Strobilurus trullisatus, the Fir-Cone Mushroom. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
I really like this idea Kildale Maybe you could add each new one to this topic and rename it to the Daily Fungi Thread or something like that? That way the collection could be browsed altogether.
I will try to post some strange fungiimages and some with strange names. This one is not very common an Arched Earthstar, Geastium fornicatum. I will most likely post them at this time then they will be there when morning arrives. If two images are interesting, I will post 2 of the same species. Two images today, this is one of three types of this fungi that I have managed to photograph. This is one of the Birds Nest Fungi. The spores are spread by rain bouncing them out of the cup. Rather neat I think. They are very small and difficult to find. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Thanks to all that have had a browse. I will try to add a bit of info about them if there is something special about it.
There are two more images for todays fungi. One is a usual group picture and the other showing it growing on a pine cone. It has a strange common name. Discina perlata, Pigs Ears ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
