They have been too busy exploring to post many updates or photos. But "The Dragon" finally uploaded some photos to his blog yesterday. They left the Christmas Islands today and are hoping to make it to Hawaii by the first part of December. Just a couple of my fav photos from the French Polynesian Islands... Fatu Hiva - I could totally live here ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Oa Pou - I found this inTREEguing ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
Oh boy! Love that little house entangled in those luxurious plants...I'd love a place like that for my SUMMER RETREAT... but then... it's gonna be all summer over there
Oh boy!!! The first one is "eye candy" for us gardeners and the second one is "eye candy" for unusual tree lovers. I am both of them. Tell brother he has a good eye. Please share more with is?
It looks as though there's going to be a mass invasion of Stewers at Fatu Hiva after seeing that first photograph. It's the perfect setting to pick fruit and learn about all the exotic plants.
I love the house too. But then having lived in south Florida many years ago, I think back to all the creepy, crawlies both poisonous and non- that live in those places and I will just content myself to enjoying the photo. Unless, of course, I could find one up in the mountains somewhere too cold for those critters. Hawaii for Christmas, that ought to be fun. Are you still planning to join him somewhere along the trip?
Far off places like that…... They create an instant daydream that you don't want to stop. A sparsely populated paradise, wow…..back to my daydream…. Jerry
Calin... I knew I just had to share that photo here. I fell in love with it at first sight. Barb... Glad you enjoyed that tree. It really caught my attention too. Eileen... they both have been bragging about all the great fruit they have been eating. Makes me super jealous... even though I don't know what some of them are. LOL Sjoerd... Hope I don't bore you all with them... especially since they'll be travelingn for another 6 years or so. Yes Toni... I'm still planning on meeting them. But not for a couple of years yet. My dream is to be in paradise for Christmas... hanging out on the beach wearing a Santa hat! LOL They've both been to Hawaii several times. My sister lived there for years. But this will be the first time they are there on their boats. So I think that part is exciting. Plus... they will be back in civilization for a while... which equals... boat parts and repairs. Jerry... get out of my daydream! LOL Barb... here's a few more photos. 'til next time.... Both of their boats are down in that lagoon in Fatu Hiva ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Their boats in Tahuata ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Guess every day can't be paradise ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
Cheryl, The pictures are far from boring. I love seeing the world thru others eyes. It's the only way I will ever see what you just showed us. Keep posting please.
Thanks for these additions. It looks good there in spite of the fog/rain. Now miss, when you do get over to visit them you must take your camera. That's a given, right?
Cheryl, the snowbirds' flocking to Texas has been re-routed to Fatu Hiva or Tauhata. Those are stunning photos, and it seems your brothers are having the time of their lives. They do plan to write a book when they get back in about six years, don't they? If so, sign me up for one (but only if you and your Santa hat are on the cover.)
Looks like we have a queue of Stewbies who want to move into the house in the first pic Add me to the list also. Thanks for posting the photos from your brother's adventure Cheryl and keep them coming!
A GardenStew village where the huts are so hidden by vegetation you have to know they're there in order to spot them. Lovely photos Cheryl.
Room for one more? Although I would also be somewhere without the creepy crawlies... I'm an armchair traveller so I love to see other people's pictures of our beautiful world. I' m sure that your brother realises what a very lucky man he is to be doing what most of us dream about.
