Laccaria amethysteo occidentalis, Amethyst Deceiver, this is a different colour to those usually found. A neat looking mushroom, fairly easy to identify also. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
What a lovely, delicate colouring this one has. I don't think I've ever come across one as attractive as this.
This thread puts a smile on my face every time. I like puffball mushrooms, especially the big, white ones. They are edible and taste lovely when fried.
We have another one with a decent looking cap, Lepiota clypeolaria, the Shield dapperling. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Hungry are we Philip? This one looks just like an old Scottish shield - all it needs is a spike in the middle.
Hi Eileen, have you noticed my name under my signature image, Nature's Window. Frank said I should add a name so I sent him that one and he added it.
An excellent choice Kildale as you're showing us all excellent nature shots through the 'window' of your camera!!
We have another saucer type today, Orange Peel Fungus, Aleuria aurantia. Found this one growing on the side of a gravel path in the woods. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
We have a short tubby one today,Boletus zelleri. Nice contrasting colours. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
