Good Monday morning. It's a bright cold (32°) day here. Hope to 'weed eat' along our fence line today. After that, will be decorating the Christmas tree.

Will try to make time to search for a recipe of that kumquat cake, too. That one is new to me & sounds like slices of heaven.

Hope everyone is enjoying good weather and good health. A merry week to all!

Happy Monday morning. Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day. I even got to play out in the garden some. This morning however... heavy frost. Took 15 minutes to defrost the windshield. But it's sunny and we should reach a high in the mid 60s.
Maypop... let us know how your cake turns out. My brothers love it. I posted the recipe in our "recipe" forum last year.

Good morning all. We are looking at 60-70 degree highs through Friday, then maybe some rain and cooler temps but no ice this time....unless the cold air is stronger than they think it will be.

Time to play in the garden. Pretty much all the perennials are laying on the ground and a dark brown after the ice event week before last so it's time to cut them down and start putting down new mulch.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -16°C and snowing. We have already passed yesterdays high temperature, and will warm all the way up to -8°C today!
Got my wrapping done yesterday, and today I am going out for a final shopping trip to finish off. There are only 3 more days of school before the holidays so I want to be ready. Have a great day all :)

Happy Tuesday morning. Another frosty morning with a little fog. But it's sunny now and temps should get into the 60s. And we get a few days of nice temps.... in the 70s before winter returns early next week.

Good morning! 48° and will rise to 60s...seventies before week's end. We're off to vote this morning and then shop a tad. After that, a massive wrap-off.

I'll be wrapping 2 gifts each for gifting this Sunday to each of the 18 grandchildren. My daughter will be wrapping 'Santa' for her household...opposite ends of the dining table.

Our gifting will go under the tree. Her wraps will go into large lawn bags & be placed in our deep freeze. Have hidden gifts this way since our own were small.

Will deliver the bags Christmas Eve. They'll thaw by dawn but still be cold from the North Pole trek.

Good morning all. Chilly start but should warm up later today. Didn't get out in the garden yesterday, just didn't want to afterall. But I am leaning more towards being outside today but later when that warmer part of the day arrives.

Made the last shopping trip yesterday, actually got daughter to do it on her way home from work. Still using the "I've been ill" card to get out of doing some things ;)
Waiting on one order, hopefully it will be here before christmas, otherwise I will be wrapping photos of the items with a promise of it being here someday.

Good morning! Sunny and 69 today, so the forecast says. Already about 50 degrees. I finished the cookies yesterday. Today, I will fill the kids bags with cookies and just a bit of candy and deliver them to grandma. She can decide when they will get them. Don't want them to have a sugar high while school is still in session. Have a great day everyone!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -9°C and overcast. I think there is more snow in the forecast for today. I am looking forward to the solstice in a few days ... then the days start to get longer again! A few gifts to wrap and then I'm headed to the school to watch the Christmas concert. Only 2 more days of school! Have a great day all! :)

Happy Wednesday morning. A super foggy commute this morning. I just can't understand why anyone would try to drive in this stuff WITHOUT their headlights on! Don't they realize they can't be seen! Shheeeshhh!
Once this fog lifts, it should be nice and sunny with highs in the lower 70s. They are actually calling for temps up to 80 by the end of the week... and then another cool down just in time for Christmas.

Good morning all. Already near 60 and on it's way up to 70 so I had better get my gardening clothes on and get out there. Got the perennials in the main front garden all cut down yesterday...oh crud, I forgot the trim back the Anisacanthus quadrifidus var. wrightii (Flame Acanthus, Hummingbird Bush) it has definitely surpassed it's max mature size of 5feet spread and really needs to be cut back, it's taking over the sidewalk and smothered a few plants last year.

Today I work on the north bed, carefully avoiding the previously disturbed ant bed at all costs.
