Yes. This coming year will be my eighth year. I've started annuals, perennials, vegetables, shrubs, trees.
Don, What do you do with this...how does the system work? Do you grow in these all winter to transplant into the garden?
Carolyn,I think you think these are "fresh" pics... I am guessing these are from last winter/spring. I don't think it's time yet for WS. At least not around here...zone 6. With WS, seeds germinate in spring, as weather warms up.
Learned about it years ago on Garden web. And cheap way to get nice plants. Been collecting my jugs and pots.
We winter sow, but not like you are talking about, I fear. We sow cool weather crops directly into the garden and they sprout and grow slowly until spring, when they grow more quickly. I do take rose cuttings this month and have them rooting and growing under domes in the barn ("dome" is fancy talk for clear 2 liter soda bottles with the bottom cut off). Most of our flowers self-seed, so I just let them do their thing, and move them when they get crowded or start to invade.
Dh bought one of those 6x12 green houses this spring. Was going to put his homing pigeons in it Bought new building . So it's mine now. Some will also put in milk jugs.

We winter sow directly in the garden, too. For us, sowing in jugs doesn't work as well as it does in colder zones. We sow seeds in January & mulch with pine straw.
