I gathered eggs again this morning to find an over achiever trying to impress me. (I was gone almost all day and my son chose not to eat on his own since he was working back in the shop on a dump truck, so I got home to a grumpy duck son...So I made a quick breakfast for him for dinner)...Well, I cracked this huge egg to find once in a lifetime sight. A triple yolked egg.

Regular egg and the jumbo extra large impress me sized egg

Well I've seen my share of double yokers but that's amazing!! I don't think I've ever heard of a triple yoker before. Just look for the bird who can't sit down today and you'll know who laid it. :D :D

Cheryl, Frank. JERRY (you are such a hoot), Sjoerd, Eileen and Don, I have heard of a triple yolked egg, but have never seen one in all the years I have been collecting eggs (and that is a long time. I started on an egg farm when I was 10). I was feeling sorry for the poor hen, myself. I hope she doesn't out do herself today.

That is so very cool. I have one hen that only produced double yolkers. I have never seen a triple yolk egg.

Carolyn, printed out the photo and enlarged it. Now it's hanging in the coop as an incentive for my ladies. Positive thinking, you know!
    I didn't know triple-yolk eggs were possible!
