This can't be more than 3 years old but it reveals an interesting part of botany that we rarely see. The holiday season has brought these closer to us than during the rest of the year. It is also my first try at exploring this seen but unseen world. You are looking at a needle from a Christmas tree. This Christmas I wanted an adaptor for my camera so I could experiment with this very small world. Santa was nice. And for most of us we get to see something new. Lucky you! I have been wanting a camera with macro and micro lenses for some time. So far, all of my cameras have only regular lenses, so it is difficult/impossible to get such shots.
Santa has treated us as well as you Jerry!! I can make out the cell formation of the pine needle - which before would have required a microscope. I hope you post many more photographs like this as I find them fascinating.
