Santa called here before Christmas and left a long parcel,..i was told laughingly not to open it until Christmas morning,..when i wrote laughingly i meant i could see just what it was,..a spade,..not just any old spade but a very shiny chrome spade,..seems a shame to get it soiled,.. :D .

The old lady next door presented me with a large bottle of "Bushmills Whiskey",..40% proof,..for making her a garden she said,..nice of her,..i will use it for medicinal purposes of course,.. :D .

Ahem so I take it you're going to be feeling a bit under the weather until that bottle is finished Philip - marvellous restorative properties it has to be sure. ;) :D :D

I have an idea. Every time you use your little spade you could wash it with some of that whiskey. that would keep it good and disinfected.. ;)

I didn't get much for my gardens from Santa this year. "She" gave me allot of accessories for my phone.

Oh, I forgot the book I got too....Wicked Plants - The Weed that Killed Lincoln's Mother & Other Botanical Atrocities by Amy Stewart. Really very interesting, I am going to be checking our database to make sure all these plants are included and see if I need to add information about them.

Cleaning a spade with Whiskey is a terrible waste of good Irish Whiskey :setf_049:

Well our Christmas is over. And boy do I need a nap. I reclaimed my kitchen, the rest will have to wait. Got a new oven and some cute gifts. Nicholas loved his race track. Ashlyn was feeling bad because they had to leave as she had her first job interview today. I'm so proud of her. She goes to school, volunteers at the animal shelter and is now looking for a part time job.
Love my wind chime. Thinking cork screw would look great with an ivy growing on it. But for now I'll hang it on the wall. ok nap time.

Hi Folks,..everyone has done so well with Santa this Christmas,..just now i am having a medicinal hot whiskey,..well its after 0300 in the morning and i have to be up and about at 0700 so no point in going to bed.

Barb,..only as a last resort will i use the whiskey to clean that spade,..lol,..after a prolonged drought perhaps,..have fun with your phone accessories.

Eileen,..ah yes the way a whiskey can restore a person is hard to believe,..sadly next morning its punishment.

I was sure the whiskey had gone to my head when i first viewed Donna's Giant Corkscrew,..but no it is a biggie,..i like the Froggie Windchime.

Donna,..nice present to get,..the new oven,..now that is like a new adventure,..best of cooking.

Ronni,..that is a nice picture on your wall,..and great news about your getting a new camera in the near future.

Toni,..a new camera,..lucky you,..it was on my list but went unheeded,..hoping to see the result of your new camera come spring,..interesting book you got,..very interesting indeed,..half the weeds we have can be useful,..lol.

Carolyn,..a new fridge and a silent one,..has to be a male one,.. :D they tend to be much quieter.

Cheryl's new planter from the in-laws now that is useful,..and good luck with the proposed new phone.

Kiasmum,..another biggie present,..that dishwasher will surely remove egg yoke from plates,..

Philip--I think your comment about Carolyn's fridge being male is just about the first time I have heard a guy make that kind of joke!
