My Garden,..and Beyond.

November/December Blooms,..not a lot to be seen but,..the Clematis,'Freckles',.. is doing so well even today,..some Chrysanthemum were impressive,..but the Royal Red Amaryllis was the showpiece.

Hi Eileen,..my Crocus are well above ground just now,..Delphiniums are above the ground as are Daffodils,..too early as i think we are in for the heavy polar snow soon .

 

Wow Philip! The difference in climate is striking between Ireland & New England. You must benefit from the Gulf Stream? New England has been having temps of -7 to 40 F (-21.7 to 4.4C) Crocuses & delphinium are shivering in their boots, hunkered well underground.

 

Hi Cayuga Morning,..our weather thankfully is classed as mild and moist with a lack of temperature extremes,..though most people think its cold when we just have a frost,..check out the description below of Irish Climate,..such a big difference from New England,..and ahem Eileen,..from Scotland

Philip--Reading about the temperatures in Ireland & NW Europe makes me appreciate how incredibly cold it must have seemed to all the successive waves of emigrants from England, Ireland, & northwestern Europe who landed in New England & New York.

Philip--I take it that the geology of the causeway is natural? What kind of rock caused this?

Hi Cayuga Morning,..yes those rocks are natural,..Basalt Rocks,..from a volcanic eruption some 60 million years ago,..i made several visits there over the years and apart from visiting the Giants Causeway i always visited the local Bushmills Whiskey Distillery,..beautiful whiskey brewed there,.. .

Lol Cayuga Morning,..it is a nice thing,..Bushmills Whiskey is top of my list,..but a very close second is Grouse,..excellent when boating in icy weather.
