Why, oh, why do I have to travel for hours by plane to see these lovely birds? One day I will.

I was watching a documentary about the Mississippi flooding and noticed Cardinals flying amongst the trees. They are really attractive birds - such a pity we don't have them here.

If I had these birds visiting my garden I'd be glued to the window all day.

I didn't know that there was such a bird as the Chestnut Backed Chickadee. He's a handsome little fellow isn't he? :-D

Ahh yes, now that I see this one, you have but I've obviously been having a few senior moments lately!! I don't think I've seen a picture though showing as much chestnut as your latest one (my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;) )

We have the pileated woodpeckers visiting the garden and the deck more or less each day. With them being with us for a few years now I manage to get shots of the male and the female. Ladies first of course.

I wish my woodpeckers would allow me to take shots like this of them. They are slowly becoming more used to me though so maybe someday ...

A little bit of a change today, into the sea birds with the brown pelican.
