We have a new store called "Habitat for Humanity". Can't wait to go back. I bought all this for $3.00. Next trip I'm taking the pickup truck. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )
Donna... are the products new or used? I'm assuming the proceeds go to "Habitat"? Nice finds and a great deal!
Cheryl, It's used and new. All donated and yes proceeds go to Habitat. They had boxes and boxes of hardwood flooring( brand new) for $ 20.00 a box. All kinds of furniture and appliances really cheep. There was just everything.
Donna, talk about a win/win situation--you got great stuff, and the money goes to a very good cause! We have a "Restore" that sells donated contractors' overages and goods both used and new given by the general public, with proceeds going to Habitat. It's a great way to get a bargain and help others. And do take the truck next time !
I love the ReStore (Habitat for Humanity) here also. I have gotten some of the coolest things. My $2 shutters that became gates and potting bench hide-a-way. Have some windows and doors that are waiting to be made into a little greenhouse that came from ReStore also, even a really nice overstuffed chair for David's cigar shed. Several lights and cabinets about the house came from there. Got some decorative oak spindles I've got prepped for table legs, but haven't had the time to put together yet. Like I really need another table, but I love projects. Next to Goodwill on the rich side of town it is one of my favorite shops.
Donna S next time you go could you call by and pick me up,I looove those sort of shops! PS. happy shopping..
We have a sting of Habitat for Humanity stores here too. They were first known for building houses for needy people and took donations of building supplies. I guess that was successful as soon stores were popping up all over. I occasionally see photos in our local paper of the newest homes built and the recipients of the house ... they are all built by volunteers with donated materials. I've been to their re-stores and always find great stuff!
Sounds like a great shop. Have fun! We've got a couple of second-hand shops here. One of them's run by the Salvation Army and that's the one I visit when I'm in town.
