Hi all, Got home late last night. Had a great time and have lots of pictures when I get caught up. Anyway I was thrilled with my wicking system. It worked wonderful. I put a little sand and cinnamon around each plant before I left and no damping off or bugs. taken Jan. 29th day before I left. Great job on constructing your system, Donna. I am glad it worked for you. I have to go away for 3 days next week and am leaving my children to watch over my greenhouse stuff. I am a little worried. Thankfully I will be able to check everything late the day I leave and the day I get back which leaves really only one day that I need them to make sure they don't mess it up. I have all my hanging basket (wave)petunias started and they are fragile, yet. Maybe I should set the plug tray in a shallow tray that has a solid bottom.... You are an excellent help, here. So glad your wicking worked for you Donna. Now when you leave home for a few days you won't need to worry about your plants any more.
I don't know what I'm more impressed with... the wicking or all that healthy new growth in just a week!
