Plant food help

Its me again LOL

I have another question. For plant food I got Schultz 10-15-10 plant food and it recommends 1/2 strength feeding but for the life of me I'm struggling to figure it out. For a regular dose its 7 drops per quart for half strength do I add 4 drops to 1 quart? (never fert before so am clueless) can anyone got advice?

Also when I put them outside should I keep up with the food or let them be?

You could add 7 drops to 1/2 gallon.

Feeding is not that critical so 4 drops is fine. Most don`t even recommend feeding in winter. Spring when active growth starts is when they need food most.

im not gonna start to feed till march/april but thought id better get it sorted now

 

Scarah...Mart and Jerry are both correct. Either double the water or use only 4 drops and if your plants aren't actively growing wait until Spring and a sunny day, too. They use the fertilizer more efficiently if the sun is shining.
I am pretty sure the 7 drops to a quart of water mixed incorrectly will not even begin to have a detrimental effect on the plant. It is pretty weak the way you are mixing it. I have found the easiest way to fertilize anything is to buy a container of osmocote and use that according to the instructions and you won't have to worry about diluting any fertilizer at all. I use it all the time in my greenhouse (along with other fertilizers since I grow to sell my plants), but a house plant usually isn't as heavy a feeder as bedding/flowering plants.
What are you putting outside? I would think you probably won't need to fertilize once they are outside unless it is garden plants that are flowering and fruiting. And once again...osmocote could be your very best gardening friend add it an don't think about it anymore.

 

sounds good,maybe ill wait till i summer them out doors then feed once a month with double the water.
i re-potted them in better soil (cleaned off the rock hard box store stuff) but left them in their original pots.So there having a bit of a rest now.I really like these plants,and would like to do good so 1 day my children can have them

So far i have: 3 Christmas (Thanksgiving)cactus's a Rubber tree,Snake plant and Kalanchoe.Hoping to may be add a Jade or Tea rose begonia
