Thank you, thank you! But it is strange, normally we'd be clad in snow. It's a weird winter indeed! Also funny, these two helleborus are from seeds. They seem to be "evergreen" ??? Their green leaves stay on, not like the WILD type which I collected from the woods around. Those are just poking through the surface now.
Those bloom,s look good. People here have those blooming as well. I am a bit worried tho, I have to say. I have quite a few early spring plants which I have planted for my bees and now I am worried that they will freeze to death if we get a cold snap and then the bees will have less to gather when they need it soon. Well, aside from all that...your blooms look really attractive and who wouldn't be delighted to see them ...at ANY time of year. Well done, mate!

calinromania, You make my eyes and heart very happy for both of these are some of my favorites. All my Helleborus hang onto as many leaves as they can for as long as they can. Some never loose any until I clean them up in the Spring. And now I will run out and have a look at some of my Helleborus. They looked like they were getting buds a few weeks ago.
Our hellebores also hang on to their foliage through winter, but they start to die off in spring. I usually cut them away then, when the new leaves are starting to sprout.
Simply lovely! Hellebores and snow drops my favorites. Hope you have more coming to show us. I've been out looking for my rescued snow drops, but they will be very small for a few years yet and are slow coming up. I didn't know hellebores could be deciduous. You will love having the green year round marking their place in the garden. This year I tried cutting the old foliage back so the flowers could really stand out. I'll have to wait and see how that works.
