As you can see time and weather has not been kind to our sheds.. The 'bike'shed'.Not too bad when it must be the best part of 30years old! I can clearly see why you need a new shed Karin. Our old one looked just like yours a few years ago. Mind you being 30 years old I can understand why it's feeling its age. Do let us know what shed you decide on when you go looking.
Yes, it seems your sheds have seen better days. Are you going to recycle the wood from the old sheds for other projects? I can't wait to see the new shed you pick out
I'll play devil's advocate and say that age gives them extra personality. But it's good to fix stuff up also. And safer! Wishing you luck with your project KM.
I kind of like the old weathered look too, but you all are right, there comes a time that you have to either do a major repair job or start fresh. Good luck with it KM. PS that clematis is irrepressible, isn't it?

" That's one word for it Frank, I'm all for personality but when it means that my potting shed is not watertight (and bearing in mind that there is electricity supplied to it) it needs to go. Eileen, I most certainly will show you all when we get it.We took the first small step today which was to get a quote for laying the new base for the "bike" shed. Only when that part of the project is complete will the potting shed be done. Netty,to be honest I don't think that any of it would be much good for us to use again-as much as we would like to,but quite a lot of it is rotten ,but at least the council will be able to recycle it into compost.

Sjoerd,,that is the well-known indoor sub- spices of Clematis Cirrhosa Freckles Did you spot the other sub-species in the outdoor shot? The creeping guttering type?
Sjoerd and Kiasmum, You two are very funny. I think I would like a clipping of those plants. I have many places that I could get them growing if I really, really work hard on it. Shed pictures really are nice. I have an artist friend that would take those and paint some beautiful art using them as a subject them.
Ermmm...yes, I did see, but I thought it discreet not to mention that Clematis pluvius canalis hybrid as well. I wonder if you will be entering your special sub types in Malvern and Chelsea this year. I shall keep my eyes open on the BBC. I used to have the normal 'Freckels' and it did well here for a few years but sadly a couple of years ago it perished with that hard winter. Tch! I reckon that I should have had the indoor type that you so boldly display. Chapeau madame!
Barb, I don't think you'd have to work very hard with this one-it has a mind all of it's own and wanders at will with no input from me whatsoever Sjoerd,i'm hoping to bring things BACK from Chelsea not taking plants there. 8)
Looks like it's time to redo the bike shed as it is coming unhinged. 30 years is a good time. A few birds might appreciate a weathered birdhouse from any salvageable wood. Jerry
Meid, if you are serious about bringing something (other than a cold) back from Chelsea, you'd better take a Sherpa with you toting bags of pounds. I shall really be interested; if not mildly jealous, to see what you come back with. BTW--when you are standing behind one of the presenters during a filming segment...wave to us, would you?
Sjoerd,Mark will be accompanying me to Chelsea I think the limiting factor to the amount we bring home will be: our backs,cost and getting it home on public transport .Don't worry about pictures as I'm probably going to bore you all to death with them shortly afterwards... WRT to standing behind presenters,I'm actually not bothered with celebrity so if you do see someone waving it won't be me Jerry,good idea!
