So 12 years ago we got Chinese Clivia right from China. Wouldn't ya know it is going to bloom for the first time now?? Chinese Clivia Chinese Clivia We don't really know what the difference is in our regular one and this one but we will see. We also have a variegated one but doesn't look like it anymore.
Oh boy there's a good amount of buds showing there Barb. I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like when they open.
Carolyn, I agree. It looks kind of cute, like pudgy toddler. I am curious to see the flowers. And the berries/seeds.
Such patience, restraint, dedication, and the like! Keeping and caring for a blooming plant for 12 years without a bloom! WOW.
Look she has a flower in her hair. How about that! This is now it is doing now. I am surprised it doesn't have a taller stalk.
Very cool Barb. BTW, I have one clivia that always has a short stalk too??! Don't know why. Sometimes (if I have the foresight) I put it in a dark room for a week or so, so that the stalk reaches higher.
Well are the leaves stubby and round compared to our other Clivia? Maybe you have a Chinese Clivia also. This one was close to my regular ones in the greenhouse until a week or so ago.
