The first of the daily edible berries, I have 35, is Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Common bearberry. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Today we have one that most people would eat in the woods, Rubus laciniatus, Evergreen Blackberry. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
The last one is the evergreen blackberry, not the usual European bramble. Rubus armeniacus, Himalayan blackberry. This is the bramble that you all love. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Staying with blackberries, here we have, Rubus ursinus the Trailing blackberry. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
We're only ones here that love blackberries. All the birds in the garden like to have a feast when the berries ripen. They usually make it to the fruit before we get a chance but I don't mind in the least.
Todays come from a little higher evevation, Vaccinium uliginosum, bog blueberry. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
This is one that we all love, but this is the wild one, Fragaria Virginiana, Woodland Strawberry. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
I love finding a berry bush that no one else(man or beast) has found. Now, with these posts I can enjoy more berries. Jerry
I have some wild strawberries growing in the garden just for the birds. There's always a flurry of activity when the berries ripen.
