My girlfriend was asking me which one of these plants would the hardest plant for her to kill since she has no luck with plants - the polar opposite of me. I have my choice on it. Just was wondering what my fellow stewers think. Thanks :stew1:

With a Peace Lily you don't have to worry about the amount of light it gets and it can take forgetful waterers.

I am having difficulty picking out one to vote for since over the years I have killed at least one of each of those choices. But I guess I would go with Spider Plant for the hardest to kill....at least for me.

I't not hard to kill any plant if you never water it or water it too much. I'm going to vote in order of difficulty-to-kill. Hardest to kill would be snake plant (Maybe to say it would take the longest to kill). then peace lily, spider plant, bamboo palm, and areca palm. gerbera daisies aren't houseplants, so that would be the easiest to kill.

Agree that spider plants are about as hard to kill as snake plants, but spider plants are prone to brown tips and general sulking, even if they're not dying.

Snake plants don't wilt, don't mind how much light they're getting, don't care much about humidity, tap water chemicals, and the only way to kill it is to water it too much.

I was just reading back through the thread, and I had to laugh at the comment to use silk plants. Silk plants, also, can die. When the glue fails, their leaves fall off! I used to go to a bank that had 2 silk ficus by the back door, and they were all sticks with just a few leaves just hanging. Sure looked "dead" to me.

I have had a mother-in-law's tongue for a few years! I water it once a month(if I remember) and it is on the shelf in low light and it is growing new leaves! If I could recommend a houseplant, this would be my number one.

I must get one of those! I have cats. I need to find plants that aren't dangerous to obnoxious kitties and can handle not a lot of sun light in the house.
