New bird!

This morning, I saw a bird that I have never seen before. It's damp and cool and drizzely and a Spotted Towee was on the ground under the feeder. Had to look him up. It is of the Sparrow family and is native to Ohio.

 

They are great looking birds. We have had a couple visiting all winter but haven't had them for a week now. They used to call them rufous sided towhee till a few years ago.

I've never seen one of these before. It's a very pretty little bird.

 

Fantastic! I still have to identify a little bird that flew into my mudroom last year. I had never seen one before and have never seen one again!

 

Good eye Cap't! Isn't it fun to watch for the unusual birds passing through? He is a dandy visitor!

 

Oh I didn't know they changed their name. They have a very distinctive territorial call. Love seeing them around the yard.
