The San Antonio River Taxi ride is very relaxing, about 30-40 minutes long. You can take a guided tour for more money but, the place is just lined with restaurants and hotels so why pay for a guide to tell you the obvious. The Taxi ride is more fun and cheaper.
Many years ago when we went it was lined with very few places to eat and loads of neat, little boutiques and shops but not any more.

Toni, wonderful photos! It would seem you had a good time on your vacation. Tell us (show us!) more, please.
I love San Antonio, and it is our favorite spot for a two or three day vacation. Wonderful restaurants, a zoo, botanical gardens, and two--count them TWO--restaurant equipment supply places with all sorts of great kitchen "stuff." (It's my kind of "junqueing" :D ).

That river trip was really the thing to relax after walking from the Alamo to the Cathedral and back again.
More photos coming, I have been getting each venue sorted, sized and ready to start posting.

The photos from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center are taking the longest. My eyes are in

Lovely photos Toni! It looks like the River walk has become very 'upscale'. Fun, but different from what was there before. I do like upscale, but there is something special about an area with funky boutique type stores that you don't see anywhere else.

There looks to be a lot to oogle at and take in on that walk Toni. In general I don't like guided tours - it's much better to walk and take in the sights at your own pace. You had the right idea! Thanks for taking us along with you.

Toni the river taxi ride looks like something we'd really enjoy. I love the shots you took (especially the waterfalls) and am now looking forward to your next batch of photographs. :-D

I've only been to San Antonio twice, once for a work conference and the other for my sis-in-law's funeral.
One day I need to go just to have fun! The river ride will definitely be on my to-do list.
