I really like that first fern, it's so different than the others. And that Delphinium! Oh my! I love that color. I'm trying one this year, but it must be a different variety. It's more of a mound. I would love to have a tall pretty blue plant like yours.
So beautiful Philip. I am not familiar with wallflowers, yours are beautiful. And of course the delphiniums are amazing. I also like all your green on green photos: the ferns (I agree with Cheryl the first one is gorgeous), the hostas, the pulmonaira.
And your garden goes on and on. I always love to see your garden posts even though I may not have time to post on them. You always make me go out and search for something to put in my own garden. Thanks for that and thanks for the little extra pleasure of seeing all your beauty.
Well Philip there's no way I can pick a favourite from your garden. The hollyhocks are gorgeous especially the deeper blue one, ferns are looking great, your lupins, delphiniums, clematis and wallflowers are beautiful. As for your nasturtiums and roses they are putting on a wonderful show. Tell me though how do you manage to have such good looking hostas? Mine are being munched on by slugs but I don't see any holes in yours at all.
Hi Cheryl,..i know i feed them with Miracle Grow but i was surprised the past two years just how tall they grew,..that Delphinium,'Bluebird',..can be even taller,..yours may well start reaching for the sky as well,..i could send you some seeds if you like. That Hearts Tongue Fern that you like,..i have it for a few years i have to admit it looks very healthy,..i give it a good amount of water then let it dry out before watering it again,..they do pop up in my garden.
Hi Cayuga Morning,..Wallflowers are very easy to grow from a cutting,..that's where all five of mine came from,..they are highly scented,..its recommended to dispose of the plant after flowering as it gets woody and leggy,..but just a small cutting will very quickly grow. Hi Eileen,..i am surprised about the condition of those Hosta's,..Slugs do thrive on them,.. well more likely Attack Hostas,..more so in our climate which is a haven for Snails and Slugs,..mine are protected threefold,..in containers,..sprayed often with the mix of Liquid Soap and Neem Oil,..plus a new Control i now use,..Slug and Snail Killer with Animal Repellent to reduce the attractiveness of pellets to domestic animals,..its also shower proof.
