The Night Blooming Cyreus gave me a surprise

I didn't think it was going to bloom for at least a couple more days... actually I was hoping it would wait until my sister got here on Friday... but you can't stop a flower from blooming!

Deanna... it's fragrant, but on the "mild" side. I could just barely smell it this morning. Last year, I brought it indoors so I could watch it bloom. When I opened the door that next morning, the aroma was "sweet".

 

I think the aroma happens at night to attract a certain bug. It fades in early morning.

It is beautiful!
