Spring has finally sprung and we have a 'blossom-paloosa' happening...

The willows we cut back serverly last fall are coming back...(Sjoerd, I tried working with a bunch of these branches to make a screen aand such, but they were terribly brittle and kept breaking. Maybe they need to be kept wet?)...

Are moose common around your farm? Looks like spring is finally arriving. Snow kept coming much too long.

Donna, they look like an elongated blueberry, and to me, they taste a little tarter than a blueberry...tho sometimes sweeter, depending on the ripeness. We've had a couple plants for a few years now. They are terribly neglected as far as watering and weeding (grass around them) and yet they produce an abundant crop every year!!!

    Here's some info on them...

Hey there Bunkie. Sorry to hear about the heat there. We just finished a little heat wave here and now it is raining like mad here, and so things are cooling off at last. Whew!

Hang in there meid. It seems like you live in a pocket of extremes there sometimes (weather-wise).

I think we do Sjoerd! The rest of this week is in the 90's!!! I spoke with my brother on the phone yesterday. He's in California and says they've been cold in the 70's?!

Yesterday's baby deer....it's to the left of the blue marker (center)......

HOT HOT HOT here. Hell of a summer. Had 12 days in the 90's a brief break in the upper 80's with lightening and windstorms, and going on the eleventh day of upper 90's, with a three day 80 plus break and then back up into the 90's...we're usually lucky to get 4 days in the 90's a summer! For sure I'll be saving seed from everything that's doing well here this year in this heat!

We've been on evacuation alert since yesterday morning. Lightening started a fire down in a canyon near the river near us. Difficult area for firefighters to stand. We had three planes and a chopper hauling water from the river all day yesterday. It's still uncontained today. Very smokie and the winds are coming in with this cold front. Blood red sun in the morning and moon at night. Hell of a summer, and I still can't find the camera...

Nice to see those duckies on eggs...but isn't it a bit late got ducks to be sitting on eggs with the intention of hatching them?

Crazy weather. I hope that the fire doesn't get out of hand and that you must evacuate your property.

Good luck with that summer hell there.
