Cloned dragon fruit from Disney

Hey guys I bought a dragon fruit from Disney while i was at there flower and garden festival. its a cloned starter from one of there plants. when i got it i put it unto a 4 inch pot like it told me to, kept it covered to keep the humidity up. after about 2 weeks i took it off and placed my plant outside in med light. my question is this its about close to half an inch or a tiny less tall when do i plant her into the ground? and is it better to keep it in the pot longer in moor light?

 

Please guys I could use some help here!

thanks eileen, my only problem is knowing how to grow the plant. I know it can be planted outside or in a pot but i see some that grow like trees and some that need a support structure to tie it to.

 

I wish I could help, but it is not a fruit I am familiar with. I have never even seen one, I don't think. Is it a tropical or asian or where does it come from?

 

Its a tropical cacti and it took a turn for the not so good! i brought it out to get it as much sunlight i could brought it back in and it was drooped over. i tried to uproot it was its roots and re plant it so Im hoping that it will work. i need some serous help!

Does this plant have prickles, spines?

 

Yes it has like spines, they don't prickle or anything.

 

Pics of 'dragon fruit plant' out there don't show plants with spines/prickles, leaving me to wonder if that's what your plant is. I know very little about prickly plants. Hopefully someone can school us both!

 

I don't know much about this plant in particular, but my experiences with tropical cacti I've found that they prefer indirect or filtered sunlight.

 

Hmmmm. I have no idea and I'm afraid of it dying on me.

 

hmmm, I am wondering if it is a "prickly pear cactus". They produce edible fruit, have spines and is a cactus.... Google it and see if that is what you had/have.
