Hello All! I just want to introduce myself. I am both a newbie to the forum and rookie to gardening. Started this year with dahlias, hydrangeas, tomatoes, beans, squash and fruit trees! Loving it but lots of trial and errors. Appreciate any and all tips and guidance.

    Happy gardening and harvesting! =)

    Helen

Welcome! I've been gardening for years, but this is where I come to with gardening questions or problems. Someone, and usually several folk, are ready with good advice and helpful answers. You'll really like it here!

Thank you for reaching out! I have a post about an issue with my Dahlia plant but can't seem to copy the link. In a nutshell, my buds and blooms are browning and it is now spreading to another dahlia plant that has been healthy for last 2 months....until now. Please help? See photos. Thanks in advance!

Helen, Just about everything is growing well here in the plains of the U.S. thanks to some welcome, plentiful rains this year. It's raining right now, which is why I am dinkin on the computer! ;)
The corn and soybeans are nice this year for our farming friends.
My gardens are lush and happy. Tomatoes are setting fruit, the grass is crazy, we have to mow a lot!
This is all so nice, because in 2012, and 2013 we suffered from extreme drought, and growing things were not happy. Then this past winter, where I live, we barely had any snow and terrible desicating high winds. (much different from other parts of the country) so we came into spring worried about another year of drought. Seems to be over, for now. Let it rain, let it pour!
Ah, Mother Nature! Gotta love her!

Kay- so excited for you that you are having a great season! I love hearing how others' gardens are doing. Silly question, are the soy beans you are growing same as Edamame? Would love to grow some of those!

Donna- I already love it here and as you may see, I have already submitted quite a few questions and just soaking up all the great wisdom! I am sure I will have another dozen questions to ask before the season is up! =)
