Picked close to 30 lbs of celebrities and Amish paste today. I have never grown Amish paste tom's before and I am amazed at the size of them. Canning and dehydrating tomorrow.

All I can say is "WOW!" Is there a county fair where you can enter and win the "Biggest tomato" contest?

I'm envious :) I was looking forward to mine ripening, then because of the storm, I just replanted today. (with sizeable plants) Your tomatoes look lovely!

Nice tomatoes, Donna. What kind is the big one? it surely isn't a celebrity is it? I have never had any look like that.

    Really good to see.
I had to convert it to metric and saw that it is 737 grams for us metric users.
    That is a whopper!

It won't take many of those to make. lots of jars of concentrate. What kind is it anyway?

The big one is a celebrity. I have no idea why it grew that big as the others are normal size.

Donna, did you have other tomatoes from that plant? The color just doesn't look right for a celebrity. I am not saying it;s not...it just doesn't look right.

No it doesn't look like a celebrity. Still looks like a Mortgage Lifter which is a reddish pink.

I don't doubt you at all. It does looks different then all the rest. I'm guessing the seed was mixed in the package. They are very good tasting.

That is what I am thinking...not a celebrity, it just doesn't have the right shape, color or "look" with that seam across the bottom. That is an heirloom characteristic. Did you start the seeds or buy plants? Mix ups can happen no matter what.

Started seeds from Totally Tomatoes. I will buy seeds from them again. It's not a big deal to me that one seed got mixed in.
