FAO Waretrop or any Dioscorea experts

    How long do you think one of these plants might live for if looked after well?

    My friend has one for 50 years. He has about 10 of them. They are huge. They live in the ground for Summer and for Winter he just lays them on utility cart in the greenhouse. He has a desert greenhouse.

    I've given it a plum tree twig to climb up rather than an old metal coat hanger like last time!

    This is nubs of old vines. They can be thick.

    Here another one is growing this year.

    I think the plant is just getting older and has begun putting out mature vines.

    Yes Joe Caudex, I do believe you don't have a flower shoot but a maturing leaf stem. They don't flower like you think they do.

    I have some seeds and bulblets just planted. I will let you know when they come up. They will be very little and cute.
