I have 6 out all Summer but only fill them half way. That way it stays fresher. When I refill them I take a tray out there with plain water in a pitcher to rinse them out and then I add new food. We may have one more month left for the little Hummers.

Our hummers are still here. Only put out 2 feeders. One in front of the house and one in back. I also only fill them half way so the sugar water is fresher. :stew1:

I am actually amazed that I still have Hummers hanging around after the cold temperatures this week! I'm still keeping all 4 feeders out until I am SURE they are gone.

The feeders hold 4 cups. Changed and empty daily. Had Gal who does Hummers rehab. She says she has changed her feeders to 3-1 sugar. for their trip.Got fresh sugar water made for am. Cold temps got few of the flowers they like.

We have hummers still here too. I don't feed them like you all. I just have a perennial garden that they claim is theirs.

Putting up 2 new feeders. They have drank all the sugar water in 2 feeders. And they hold 4 cups. All gone in less then 24 hours.

I'm so jealous. I've put out hummingbird feeders at the last two places I've lived. Nuthin'. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

I think they hate me. :(

We still have hummingbirds zipping around the yard, but that isn't unusual since we are on a migratory route. We usually have them until mid-November.
With our heat, I fill the feeders about 1/4 full, and change them daily. We have only three feeders, so it isn't much of a job! Now that it's cooler, I can put a bit more syrup in and leave it for two days.
I didn't know about stepping up the sugar/water ratio for their migration, Connie. Thanks for the tip!

We have had rain and colder temp's all week. Here is a pic I took of one of the female hummers sitting on top of the feeder post in the cold rain. She kept looking up into the sky as if she could not believe what she was seeing. It was really funny how long she sat there in the pouring rain.

You can actually see the rain when you look at the fir tress next to her.
