The pleasure of real world dating, (& it's benefits)! : Yes, here I would now like to talk about (and show) exactly the kind of dates we get in my part of the world. I have however seen many people logging into dating sites on the Internet these days - But these are not those kind of dates, they are what grows on the date palm tree! I know that they are highly sort after, and considered a delicacy in many parts of the world - But over here in my climate, these trees grow wild! And these days they are in season too, just see how they are growing in this parking lot. So I guess it is fair to say that these days we also are now too busy with our dates! s-h.. i was a little hesitant to open this.... you did well. this is interesting to see how they grow.
That is grand. I just love the title and the fruit. You are getting good, guy..... Yum, bet they taste good. Are you allowed to take all the dates you want?
Yes, I guess so - Doubt if anybody will care (as they are growing on public property). Besides they grow wild over here, so it's nothing too precious. However you may not like the taste in this state, even though they are ripe for picking. Because to really enjoy them, you've got to dry then in the sun after they have been picked. As that's how they attain their sweetness. Otherwise they taste like soggy cardboard...
That is so interesting. I knew they grew on a date palm but have never even seen a picture! Thanks for posting the picture and information. I loved the title!
Your title drew me in and I was a bit worried about what I was going to read. I might have known you wouldn't post anything controversial. I love dates but, as others have said, have never seen them actually growing on a palm before. We get our dates from Pakistan and they taste so much nicer than the ones from other countries.
Wow,the only dates I have ever seen have been in boxes! When I was a child they were only ever something we had around Christmas. Even now I find it fascinating that what is exotic for us can become a weed elsewhere. Wouldn't those dates on the tree in the car park be tainted by car fumes? I'm not sure I would want to eat them.
Hehehehehehehe! Gotcha!!! Yes, I do enjoy playing a few mind-games - Of course I make it a point to keep everything lighthearted too, as I love being a member here at the GardenStew, so don't wish to get banned...
