.....and then suddenly things started winding down at a rate of knots! Bean leaves turning yellow and no new beans forming. The paprika's passing over from green to bright red. The blooming green manure beginning to fade. The courgette plants are producing less fruits. The tom plants are down to the last hand full. All this and I am not even commenting on the state of the flower garden.

The sight of the bright red blueberry leaves against the backdrop of the still-blooming Alyssum, I found striking.

Newly planted green manure plants, Borage in the veggie garden plots. The Phacelia is going strong at this point.

But today the Borage is larger and the Phacelia is slowly fading.

The beetroot patch has been cleaned and bedecked with Crocosmia 'Lucifer' foliage. There are still some leeks and courgette plants there however.

The greenhouse is almost ready to be cleaned-up, as the Pak Choi will soon be ready to plant in there as well as outdoors. But have a look at these lovely paprika's.

The parsnips are coming along well, and the worm infestation has been corrected.

Oh how I would like some of those red peppers for roasting. We can't find any at a decent price. Sandwiches will be rather dull without them.

Sjoerd, you create a fabulous garden.

How healthy everything looks. I have never tried planting green manure. Neither our spring nor fall last long enough for anything I know of to do more than barely sprout.

GROWINGPAINS--Thanks for your comments. I freeze them in for use later. Those two are ready, but there are more in the greenhouse. I shall let them hang a bit longer.

    Thanks so much, WARE.

2OF--What a pity that you haven't tried green manure. I see what you mean about the season length. Having said that, green manure doesn't have to be allowed to get too large before digging it under or pulling it out and lying it on your bed. For instance the borage that I have recently planted I will not let become very tall before lifting them to mulch the bed.

CHERYL-- I appreciate your kind words. I could barely wait to get home and process those paps.
