She is a beauty! I love seeing those Yellow garden Spiders in my yard. But as much as I like to see them, I wouldn't actually TOUCH one ... that some how creeps me out. Those spiders can get very large!
That is a very healthy Argiope! We have them all over the flower beds and vegetable gardens. They aren't called "the gardener's friend" for nothing--lots of grasshoppers met their end in a zig-zag web.
I like the photo and the subject though I've not seen one in this area. I like any non-poisonous (to humans) spider that helps control the plant munching insects.
Beautiful pic. We have a slightly different type, who has set up her web around our trash bin outside. We must be very careful as not to scare her off. We have had a terrible time with biting flies, so a large sticky web is very welcome.
We have similar spiders here and they can stay and eat as many bugs as they like. Excellent shot by the way. :-D
Nice photo....I had one last year but I didn't see one this summer. Not sure where they go in the winter or where they hide,on dead plants?
