I have so many hummingbirds this year... never seen so many! I'm guessing it's around 10 of them that have been her for the last week. Usually I only get 3 or 4. So anyhow, I decided to play with the "burst" on my camera... where it takes multiple photos as long as you hold down the button. I managed to capture TWO hummers in the same shot... TWICE! They aren't the greatest but I'm tickled just the same. See two of them? Wow! You do have a lot of hummingbirds. I like your photos. DH has a fancy camera but I just set DH's camera on Auto or have him take the photo. I guess I would be called 'camera challenged'.
Thanks 2! I took these with my phone's camera. I keep saying I'm going to buy a good camera, but other things seem to take precedence.
Oh boy you did well to get such good photographs of these extremely fast little birds. I love your Hummingbird feeder and so, obviously, do all the Hummingbirds that visit your garden.
Thanks Eileen. It's a new feeder. I got tired of the leaky one and decided to go with this one. Reminds me of back home in Albuquerque where they hold the world's biggest hot air balloon gathering. Because of a conversation here, I decided to stop using the store-bought stuff and mixed my own food. At first, I did 1 cup of sugar to 4 cups of water. They did not like that. So I doubled the sugar and they are HAPPY!
Those photos really make me miss my Hummers. They were amazing to watch and almost impossible to photograph!
Thanks everyone. I think my hummers are gone, but I'm going to leave the feeders up just a little longer just in case someone is passing by and needs a drink.
I really miss the hummingbirds and the orioles . But it does give you something to look forward to after a long cold winter here. I like your feeder too, I haven't seen one around here like that.
Thanks! I fell in love with that feeder on first sight. It seemed well made and didn't leak. And cost the same as the plastic ones. I did pick-up another one with horizontal stripes to replace the yucky old plastic one that'll be thrown in the trash soon.
